About Me

Who we are:

I grew up in small town Mississippi in a middle-class family. I went to college in Mississippi and got my chemical engineering degree and went into the pulp and paper industry. My wife and I met working at a paper mill - Pulp Mill superintendent + Powerhouse foreman, classic Romeo + Juliet story… We both led front-line heavy manufacturing careers until I got my MBA and pivoted into strategic roles in procurement, product marketing, and eventually in energy & sustainability.

I plan to return to the front-line work in a position where I can influence & impact the lives of my employees. When I led crews through covid, it made it very clear to me how distant corporate decisions can have outsized (and potentially) negative impacts on the lives of front-line workers. My experience being ‘the face’ of the corporate in those situations, while trying to help my team left a sour taste for me. I believe small business leadership can certainly be the way I provide for my family, but as importantly a canvas for my values to do the right thing by my employees, customers, suppliers, and community.

What we’re looking for:

It’s important that we take over a business that I can learn quickly and bring our experience to bear for the sustainability of the business through a transition. If your business has the following characteristics, I would love to meet and learn more about the business, you, and your story running it:

• People-driven: Your team is the fire that keeps your business running and you want them to stay on post-transition. I’m looking for a business where bringing out people’s full potential will help drive the business forward.

• A stable foundation: Either recurring or maintenance driven customer base that can serve as a foundation for transition and a launching pad for the next phase of this business.

• Industrial or commercial customer-base: A fully or partially b2b business, even better if it has some industrial bent it.
